Small Business/Artist Tax Workshop
On March 18, BACC had it's first event. We invited Jessie Susannah, aka Money Witch, to present a Crash Course in Taxes for Artist & Makers.
Through building the foundation of this collective, BACC has opened our ears to the needs of our arts community in an effort to address those gaps where we can. It became clear that there was a strong interest in better understanding how to run a small business. Many artist and makers are hoping to step boldly into their own self employment, and could use a guide on just how to do that.
With over 9 years of knowledge with book keeping and tax preparation, Jessie not only empowered attendees to take ownership of the role of leader within their businesses but also gave advice and tools to accomplish that hurdle.
Jessie not only spoke about important topics such as business taxes and personal bookkeeping, but also opened up the conversation to questions from those who attended. As she gracefully untangled concerns and gave helpful examples, the group was able to better understand the inner workings of a small business. On behalf of BACC, we'd like to thank Jessie for your workshop and your willingness to help our community.
